As this was the first time I have stayed in a holiday cottage. I must say it has been an extremely good experience. Wolds End Holiday cottages - News update 9th October 2010
PRESS RELEASE! Woldsendmakes the papers with an article on our facilities for Bikers and Walkers
This article appeared in the York Evening Press business section on the 22nd September 2010.

The specialist outdoor facilities were developed in consultation with Steve Shepherd, head of the York-based Jorvik Mountain Bike Club. They include a bike and boot wash area, a spacious drying room andhi-tech bike storage facilities. Steve says "Most people who are serious about cycling have bikes that are worth thousands of pounds and need to have somewhere really secure to keep them, so the alarmed keypad system here is great. Plus the washing and drying facilities mean that you don't have wet kit hanging all over the house! The facilities at Woldsend are second to none andI wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any cyclist."

With the Summer season giving way to Autumn the holiday cottages look stunning. Bookings for Rose Cottage and Granary Cottage now extend in to November. Christmas and New year is fully booked. We are already taking bookings for next summer
Our first guests arrived Saturday July 3rd and have already re-booked for the beginning of July in 2011. All our other guests to date have had a fantastic time and some have promised to return next year. Customer feedback is excellent. One visitor from Italy said "this is my dream home" Another visitor said the properties are "phenomenal"
The Landscaping was completed in June with the secluded walled gardens at the rear of the cottages forming a perfect south facing suntrap. Turfing, hedging and border plants are now established and growing well. The gardens look lovely and peaceful.
In early October a seed mix of woodland grass and flowers is to be sown under the giant beech trees at the front of the cottages. Bulbs will be planted to create additional colour in all the gardens from January onwards
What a difference two months makes!
